October 27, 2024

On Tuesday 10/15/24 at approximately 3:15pm Station 56 and 54 were dispatched to the 2200-Blk of Brandenburg Way for a reported house fire.

Chief 56(Johnson) arrived on scene to find a two story middle of the row townhouse with smoke showing from the second floor. This report initiated the county working fire dispatch which added Engine 27 (Norristown FC) Quint 15 (Radnor FC), Engine 2-1 (Berwyn FC), Engine 24 (Gladwyne FC) Quint 39 (Geo Clay FC) , Tower 53 (Lower Providence FC). Squad 56 arrived and dropped 400 ft of supply line and placed a handline in service. Chief 56 and crews from Squad 56 completed searches of the building for possible residents. All searches came up negative. Squad 56 quickly knocked down a kitchen fire though smoke was evident throughout the house. Engine 27 deployed a precautionary back up handline to the second floor while units checked for fire extension.

Crews from multiple departments operated completing other fire ground functions such as placing ground ladders, securing a water supply and ventilating the building. The department and mutual aid operated for two hours.

Upper Merion-5 (Leis) had command of the incident.

This fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office.
